There are so many things wrong with gender identity ideology that this gay male could see from the very outset. most of which are elucidated here. Leaving aside all the issues and challenges that what is not called trans identity poses, by main beef with it is that it won't work. You can't pave the entire planet with leather instead of just wearing shoes. If you're self-identity and self-worth is wrapped up in what others (mostly straight people) think, you've already lost the battle. I found pride as a gam man by dealing with all the homophobic rhetoric and actions dealt my way until I could finally say to an uncaring world: fuck you. My middle finger to the world was the ultimate expression of freedom, and every gay person born before, I don't know, say 2000, knows this. Pride doesn't come at the end of parade, or because your straight co-workers list their ridiculously obvious pronouns on their email signature. Pride comes from overcoming adversity, and the first step towards that is allowing yourself to experience the adversity the entire world has in store for you. Because it is real and it is not going away, despite non-binary's fascist like verbal bullying. Trans people can bully some people into changing the way they speak but are deluded if they think they are changing minds. Far from it, they are alienating the very people who are their natural allies. It's pathetic, really. The last issue I have with T+ activists is this: the biggest and most unsurmountable handicap anyone can have is lack of a sense of humor. Gay men and women and trad trans like drag queens have ALWAYS had the BEST sense of humor. You laugh at yourself first, then the world gives you permission to laugh at it. The gender ideology movement evinces exactly ZERO sense of humor. Honestly, Miss Things, get over yourselves. We all in the Queer community already did two years ago.

Christopher, thanks for making these great points about the fallacy of wrapping one's self-worth up in what others think, and the anti-humor bent of the T+ activists.

Thank you Daniela. The link didn't work for me. But I googled the study title and was able to download it easily.

This is a very interesting read - and worrying to boot. But you have not explained how the Legbit acronym came about - how the 'T' became fundamental element of it. It was first used in the British Parliament at 2.45 in the afternoon on December 14th 2006 by Lord Avebury - which is going back a bit. Where and when was it first coined? - and for why? It must have been coined some years before for the noble lord used it. There's a Phd in this.
